On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared that the coronavirus outbreak had reached the level of a pandemic. Almost immediately, cities around the world went into lockdown, and terms like temperature measurement, facemask and social distancing became buzzwords of 2020.

Italy was the European nation hardest hit at the start of the pandemic. It became crucial for every organization and business with on-site operations to have a Covid-19 safe plan, and contactless temperature measurement has been a focal point of case detection.
